Michael Cole’s Real Reaction To The Undertaker’s Historic WWE Loss
The Undertaker’s first WrestleMania loss to Brock Lesnar came as a huge shock to fans but as it turns out it was just as surprising for the WWE announcers calling the show.
At WrestleMania 30, WWE fans were left in stunned silence as after three F-5s Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker ending the legendary undefeated streak of The Deadman.
The Undertaker had amassed 21 wins without a loss at WWE’s biggest show of the year with his first one coming in 1991. In the years following, Undertaker had picked up wins over a who’s who of WWE Hall of Famers including Jake Roberts, Kane, Mark Henry, Edge, Batista, Ric Flair, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels to ensure his place in wrestling history.
And it seems it wasn’t just WWE fans left in a state of shock after The Undertaker finally lost at WrestleMania.
JBL & Michael Cole Didn’t Know The Undertaker Was Suffering Huge Loss
Speaking on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass, JBL – who was one of the commentators that night – revealed he and Michael Cole were left just as speechless as everyone else as they had no idea history was going to unfold in front of their very eyes:
I just assumed the Undertaker was going to win, and so did Michael [Cole.] When Brock pins the Undertaker, Michael Cole says something to the effect of, ‘And the streak…’ He was going to say continues, is what he was going to say. Then we saw the three and Michael said, ‘has ended.’ He just looked at me, ‘What the f***.’
All of a sudden we realize the streak has ended, then we saw the reaction and the crowd. Sometimes your reaction is so much better when you don’t know what’s out there.
The Undertaker has previously named the star he would have picked to end his WrestleMania Streak, and it seems things could have worked out very differently if he’d have got his way.
