Mercedes Mone’s Next Challenger Takes Swipe After Shock Title Loss

Mercedes Mone

Are we about to witness the downfall of AEW star Mercedes Mone?

Mercedes Mone has spent 2025 stacking championships upon championships. After breezing past the previous record held by Ultimo Dragon, Mone was the proud holder of a staggering 14 belts, but the one she really wanted, she just couldn’t have.

At All In Texas, “Timeless” Toni Storm beat Mone to hand The CEO her first singles defeat since becoming All Elite and retain the Women’s World Title. Since then, Mone has continued to pick up wins and worked her way back into title contention. This set up a match with current World Champion Kris Statlander at Full Gear. However, once again, Mone came up second best after Statlander drilled her with Saturday Night Fever.

Mercedes Mone vented her frustration after that loss, but things just keep getting worse for her.

To the shock of everyone, Mone lost her ROH Women’s Television Championship to Red Velvet at Final Battle. And now there’s blood in the water, the sharks are circling.

Mercedes Mone’s Crown Starting To Slip

Mone is due to defend her Undisputed British Women’s Championship at Rev Pro’s Uprising on December 14th. Her challenger, Rhio, took to social media to stick the boot into the champion:

The downfall has begun!!! See you next weekend @MercedesVarnado

Mone responded to Rhio with the simple request that her title challenger “SHUT UP.”

Mercedes Mone has been Unsidputed British Women’s Champion since she defeated Mina Shirakawa for the title at Wrestle Dynasty in Tokyo, Japan, on January 5th 2025. Since then, Mone has successfully defended the title three times; the last of those matches saw her also capture the DW Women’s Championship.
