Mercedes Mone’s Impressive Streak Will Allegedly End At AEW All In
Mercedes Mone’s singles run in AEW has been impressive thus far.
Since debuting with the Florida-based promotion in 2024, she’s remained undefeated while having clashed with the likes of Mina Shirakawa, Kris Statlander, and Britt Baker.
At AEW All In: Texas on Saturday, the TBS Champion is set to go head-to-head against AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm.
This will be the first time that the two women face one another in a singles match.
The duo recently had their final words on Dynamite before their big match, setting up an exciting contest for the attendees at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Former WWE employee and Hollywood star Freddie Prinze Jr. shared his opinions on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast about arguably the biggest women’s match in AEW history.
I’m looking forward to this match. I think Toni Storm did a good job of selling and showing some, like, some weaknesses and her outer shell and things to make you go, “Oh, is she scared? Is she scared of Mercedes Mone? I don’t know if she can beat her.” But now the story is she can. She’ll get over those demons and she will get victory, and finally, Mercedes Mone will lose a match in AEW cos she’s undefeated y’all…I’m picking Toni Storm to retain for all the reasons I just told you. Does Mercedes Mone Have Creative Control In AEW?
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently asked AEW President Tony Khan whether Mercedes Mone has creative control.
Khan was quick to dismiss any report surrounding the subject, calling it ‘ridiculous.’
I think it’s ridiculous, the idea that people would think because she’s a strong wrestler on the show that she must be the one dictating that. That is the complete opposite of what happens here…
I’m the only person with creative control over the show. At the end of the day, I’m responsible for what you see.
Mercedes Mone joined AEW in January 2024. She was with WWE from 2012 to 2022, before deciding to walk out during the May 16 episode of RAW after a creative dispute with Vince McMahon.
