Mercedes Mone Wins More Gold At AEW Grand Slam Mexico

Mercedes Mone entrance AEW Dynamite

Mercedes Mone hasn’t seen a title belt she doesn’t want and now she’s added more gold to her ever-growing collection at AEW Grand Slam Mexico.

Mercedes Mone won the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament at Double Or Nothing when she picked up a major win over Jamie Hayter. That booked The CEO an AEW Women’s World Championship match at All In Texas, where it seems she is destined to go one-on-one with Timeless Toni Storm.

Mone is the reigning TBS Champion and also holds the Rev Pro Undisputed British Women’s Title as well as the EWA Women’s Championship, and also carries the ceremonial belt from winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. She recently lost the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title in early May to AZM. But after AEW Grand Slam Mexico, that loss is all forgotten.

Mercedes Mone Collects Another Belt

At Arena Mexico, Mercedes Mone challenged Zeuxis for the CMLL Women’s Championship. In a back-and-forth match, Mone continued her undefeated streak in AEW as she escaped an avalanche bodyslam to pin Zeuxis and win the championship.

After the match, streamers fell, but there was bad news waiting for the new CMLL Women’s Champion. A video of Toni Storm walking the streets of Mexico City played, but it was Mina Shirakawa who appeared at the top of the ramp. Timeless Toni Storm then emerged behind Mone dressed as Carmen San Diego, and nailed her with a German suplex before referees stopped her from inflicting more damage.
