Mercedes Mone Wins First Indie Match In 13 Years

Mercedes Mone has grabbed another impressive win.

On March 15, Mercedes Mone returned to the independent scene for the first time since August 2012. On that occasion, she lost to Ivy Fit while wrestling under the name Mercedes VK at a Connecticut Wrestling Entertainment event.

During this period the star signed with WWE after impressing at a try-out. Mone made her in-ring WWE debut two months later at an NXT live event before being given the name Sasha Banks and taping her first match for TV in November.

Fast forward to 2025, and Mone defeated former WWE star Indi Hartwell at House of Glory City of Dreamz. Although she lost the match, the meeting was especially important for Hartwell, who has made no secret of her admiration for the AEW star.

Mercedes Mone Returning To The UK

Following that win, RevPro announced that Mercedes Mone would defend the Undisputed British Women’s Championship against Kanji on April 20. The bout will be her first defence of the title she won back at Wrestle Dynasty in Japan and will serve as her official RevPro debut.

The match was set after Kanji defeated AEW star Deonna Purrazzo at RevPro Epic Encounter. Following the bout, Mone was shown on video congratulating Kanji before commenting that she’s the next in line.
