Mercedes Mone Wants To Own Wrestling Promotion

Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone is looking to the future.

Although she’s currently at the absolute peak of her powers and a triple champion to boot, Mercedes Mone has bigger plans.

The star has long been an advocate for women’s wrestling, and it seems she’s determined to influence the industry from within whichever way she can.

During a new interview with Katee Sackhoff, Mone said she wants to own a wrestling company and be the “woman of change” for whoever wants to work with her.

“I always said back in the day that I wanted to be a shareholder and be a part of helping and creating. So yeah, I definitely want to help own a wrestling company one day and be the woman of change and voice of change over there for any wrestling company that wants to have me.”

Mercedes Mone Considered Retirement

In the same interview, Mercedes Mone claimed she almost quit wrestling after leaving WWE. The star said the end of her time with the company drove her to a “place of darkness” that made her want to leave the industry behind.

However, she eventually decided not to give up on the dream she’d had since she was ten years old and set about rebuilding her career in NJPW and then AEW.

Despite her acrimonious exit, Mercedes Mone later revealed that she wanted to return to WWE in time for WrestleMania 39. The star admitted she told those close to her that she needed to be back with the company for the event, which was held at SoFi Stadium in California.
