Mercedes Mone To Defend TBS Title After AEW WrestleDream Run-In

Mercedes Mone holding TBS Championship

Mercedes Mone has a new challenger for the TBS Championship.

At AEW WrestleDream, Aminata confronted Mone after The CEO dressed down a member of staff in the arena. Aminata told the TBS and NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion that she didn’t care who she was or how many titles she had, there was no reason to be rude.

Now, Tony Khan has announced that the incident has led to him granting Aminata a TBS title shot on Dynamite in San Jose.

This won’t be Queen Aminata’s first attempt to get to the gold in 2024. In the past few months, the star has unsuccessfully challenged Athena for the ROH Women’s World Title as well as coming up short against Mariah May in an AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator bout back in September.

Meanwhile, Mercedes Mone has been undefeated since winning the TBS Title from Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing in May. The star went on to become a double champion at Forbidden Door when she defeated Stephanie Vaquer.

Mercedes Mone Addresses Shane McMahon AEW Rumours

Mercedes Mone thinks the AEW roster would welcome Shane McMahon. In recent months, McMahon has been pictured with Tony Khan and The Young Bucks, leading to mounting speculation that he’ll make a shock appearance for the company. Commenting on the rumours, Mone said she thinks McMahon “belongs in the wrestling business” and she “is here” for him joining the promotion.
