Mercedes Mone Challenges TNA Star For New Championship

Mercedes Mone AEW

Mercedes Mone is chasing more championship gold.

On October 19, Mercedes Mone will travel to Winnipeg Pro Wrestling to challenge TNA star Jody Threat for the Women’s Championship. Threat has held the title since beating Ava Lawless back in September.

Mone already holds the TBS Championship, CMLL Women’s Championship, and RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship, among others.

Two days earlier, Mone will defend her CMLL Women’s Title against Persephone in Arena Mexico. The former WWE Superstar won the title from Zeuxis at Grand Slam Mexico in June, but to date has only defended it once.

Since signing with AEW, Mone has enjoyed a remarkable run that has seen her lose only once, which was at All In against “Timeless” Toni Storm.

Mercedes Mone To Defend TBS Championship

Back in AEW, it’s been announced that Mercedes Mone will defend the TBS Champion on a special ‘Title Tuesday’ edition of Dynamite on October 7. Much like the 6th anniversary episode a week earlier, the taping will run for two and a half hours.

Mone’s opponent has yet to be announced. As of October 5, Mone is just 11 days short of the all-time TBS Title reign record currently held by Jade Cargill.

Elsewhere on the show, Kyle Fletcher will defend the TNT Championship against Kyle O’Reilly, and Bandido will still be in action, despite dislocating his shoulder two days ago. Bandido is due to team with Brody King to face Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada.

If Okada and Takeshita win, they’ll get a shot at the World Tag Team Titles. If either King or Bandido gets the win, they’ll get a shot at Okada’s Unified Title.
