Mercedes Mone Teases Future AEW Plans

Mercedes Mone Kamille AEW

Mercedes Mone has gained an ally in AEW named Kamille and new comments suggest that there could be more help on the way.

Britt Baker made her triumphant return to the ring on the Blood & Guts episode of AEW Dynamite from Nashville. After Baker beat Hikaru Shida in a match, Mercedes Mone walked out with the TBS Title and NJPW Strong Women’s Title. Mone told Britt Baker that her answer for a match was no.

After Mone’s statement, Kamille made her official AEW debut by attacking Baker from behind and hitting Baker with a pump kick. Kamille did a Torture Rack on Baker and hit a Rack Bomb. Mone told Kamille to raise her hand, so Kamille did it.

While Mone denied Baker a shot at the TBS Title, Tony Khan announced at the San Diego Comic Con that Mone will defend the TBS Championship against Baker at AEW All In on August 25th in front of a huge crowd at Wembley Stadium.

The AEW debut of Kamille led to Mercedes Mone writing in her Mone Mag newsletter about how excited she is to work with the former NWA Women’s Champion Kamille.

“I can’t say I know her personally – yet. She’s a former NWA women’s champion. She’s a bodybuilder. She’s strong, and I’m definitely excited to work with her for these and many other reasons. To have a personal female bodyguard in your corner is an honor. Not to mention having someone like her who is so jacked that even guys are scared of her! What’s not to be excited about.”

Could Mercedes Mone Create A New AEW Stable Of Women?

As she continued to write in her newsletter, the “CEO” Mone hinted at wanting to create a stable of women in All Elite Wrestling.

“Tony Khan continues to activate the CEO in me. Getting me a bodyguard has me thinking about potentially starting a faction here in AEW. Yes, we all know factions in wrestling are cool. But for me it goes even deeper. Having a group of women alongside me helps me as a CEO to grow my board.”

“In all seriousness, having other people help inside the ring gives me more free time to be the CEO outside the ring, serving Tony and the brand in greater ways. It’s one of the reasons he brought me here and one of the reasons I came: to provide more opportunities for women and to take them, and AEW, to even higher global levels.”

“At the end of the day, having a bodyguard and a faction creates more opportunities and jobs for women.”

Recently, Mercedes Mone praised multiple women in AEW, which could indicate what women in the division she might look to be part of this potential stable.
