Mercedes Mone Picks Surprising WWE Hall Of Famer As Dream Opponent

Mercedes Mone holding up TBS and NJPW STRONG Titles at AEW Full Gear

Mercedes Mone has chosen an interesting name from WWE she would love to wrestle.

At Full Gear, Mercedes Mone defeated Kris Statlander to keep hold of the TBS Championship. The victory is the latest in a storied career that has seen Mone taking on many of the best women in wrestling today. However, there are still some stars she would love to get in the ring with.

During an appearance on Ginger Vision House, The CEO was asked who her dream opponents would be. Number 1 was Japanese legend Manami Toyota, although she joked she would probably get her “head kicked off” by the star. Mone also named WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and decorated WWE and TNA veteran Mickie James as the dream matches she wanted to have.

“There’s so many. My number one dream opponent would be Manami Toyota, if I could wrestle her from the ’90 or ’92 my head would probably be kicked off to the 10th row, but I would give up my all. I think she is one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of all time. So that would be a dream match for me. I’d also say Trish Stratus is a dream match for me. Mickie James. I love Mickie James.

If she were able to choose a male wrestler, though, Mone would “love to” wrestle WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

“If I have to choose a guy wrestler, I would love to wrestle Rey Mysterio.”

Mone is well-known to be a huge fan of Mysterio’s friend and rival Eddie Guerrero, and frequently pays homage to the late star during her matches.

Mercedes Mone Confirms AEW x NJPW Wrestle Dynasty Appearance

As the reigning TBS and NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion, Mercedes Mone has confirmed her plans to appear at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th, although it is not yet known who she will face at the cross-promotional supershow.

As well as Mone, Wrestle Dynasty will see Kenny Omega return to the ring after a year out of action, and The Young Bucks have set their sights on the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles at the event.
