Mercedes Mone Narrowly Missed Surprise Non-AEW Appearance

Mercedes Mone entrance on AEW Dynamite

Mercedes Mone wanted to surprise fans in Mexico.

AEW star Mercedes Mone recently took a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico to get a closer look at the process of creating Mezcal. But while there, she hatched a plan to make the adventure a little more interesting.

Writing in the latest edition of her Mone Mag, the TBS Champion revealed that she contacted Rocky Romero to try and facilitate an appearance in CMLL while in Mexico. However, Romero was in Japan and didn’t respond in time.

“When I first landed, I saw a poster for CMLL. So, I texted Rocky to see if I could make an appearance. It was right down the street from the hotel that I was staying at. But Rocky didn’t get back to me because he was in Japan, and I needed him to get in. So, Rocky, be warned, I will punch you the next time I see you because I really wanted to make a surprise appearance at CMLL,”

On the October 30th episode of Dynamite, Mone’s bodyguard Kamille was in action against Kris Statlander. However, things didn’t exactly go to plan for the TBS Champion.

In a little under six and a half minutes, Statlander saw off the challenge of Kamille, finishing the job with Wednesday Night Fever. After the bell, Mone attacked Statlander from behind with the TBS Title belt, but she wasn’t about to let Kamille off the hook.

Mone grabbed a microphone and ordered her partner to the back, telling her if she needed a job done, she’d do it herself.

Elsewhere on the show, Bobby Lashley made his long-awaited AEW debut with an attack on Swerve Strickland.

It was also announced that Jon Moxley will defend his AEW World Title against Orange Cassidy at Full Gear.
