Mercedes Mone Reflects On Special “Timeless” Toni Storm Clash
Mercedes Mone is already dreaming of another showdown with “Timeless” Toni Storm.
At AEW All In, Mercedes Mone met “Timeless” Toni Storm for the first time in a match that will be remembered for years to come.
Since signing for the company, Mone has conquered all before her, remaining undefeated along the way. That’s without taking into account her string of championship victories for several different promotions around the world.
However, at the hands of the Timeless One in Texas, that run of a lifetime came to an end as Storm retained the AEW Women’s World Championship. But that doesn’t mean Mone can’t reflect fondly on the event.
Mercedes Mone Proud Of All In Match Despite Defeat
In the latest edition of her Mone Mag, the TBS Champion looked back on her match with Storm while breaking down just what it meant to share the ring with her rival on the big stage.
Mone began by reiterating that she signed with AEW in part because she wanted to face Storm.
“This may have been one of the greatest weeks of my entire pro wrestling career. If not, it was definitely up there…
I’d been waiting for this one for a long time—five years, maybe more. Part of the reason I signed with AEW was because I wanted to wrestle Toni Storm. She’s become such an incredible character and a true star.”
When the match finally happened at All In, everything felt aligned. The build-up, the energy, the entrance -was all perfect. Even before the bell rang, I could feel how special it was going to be.”
Mone added that even by the time she made it through the curtain, she was looking forward to facing Storm again.
“Wrestling ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm was everything I hoped it would be—and more. And as I walked back through the curtain, one thought kept repeating in my head: ‘I want to do that again. I can’t wait to wrestle her again.’”
It’s been announced that Mercedes Mone will defend the Undisputed British Women’s Championship against Safire Reed on July 25. The match will take place at RevPro Summer Sizzler in Wolverhampton, England.
