Mercedes Mone Signing Talks Collapse
Mercedes Mone is the most wanted free agent in the wrestling business but it looks like she won’t be heading to the company that seemed to be in pole position to sign her.
Formerly known as Sasha Banks, Mone walked out of WWE in May 2022 alongside her then-tag team partner Naomi – now known as TNA Knockouts Champion Trinity.
Since then Mercedes Mone has wrestled for NJPW, winning the IWGP Women’s Championship, and been shown on camera at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium as she recovers from an injury that has kept her out of action for months.
Working plans between Mercedes Mone and AEW were said to be off with the star looking like making a shock return to WWE but now that deal seems to be off the table.
Mercedes Mone/WWE Talks Collapse
Fightful Select has reported that talks between Mone and WWE have fallen apart as they failed to progress. WWE walked away as a result leaving a return for the former Raw, SmackDown, and NXT Women’s Champion very unlikely.
One WWE source noted that the belief was now that Mone would end up appearing elsewhere imminently but did not clarify where.
AEW, NJPW, and TNA all have huge shows in the coming days and weeks with Worlds End, Wrestle Kingdom, and Hard To Kill on the horizon.
TNA have teased one of the biggest signings in company history for their event and Mone would certainly fit the bill for that.
