Mercedes Moné Sends Message To “Crybaby” WWE Fans

Mercedes Moné isn’t holding anything back, and she’s got a few words for fans still stuck in the past.

The self-proclaimed CEO of AEW lit up Instagram Live this week with a fiery message aimed directly at WWE loyalists who keep asking for her return. It’s been over two years since she walked out of WWE in May 2022, but some fans clearly haven’t moved on. Moné made it clear she has, and she’s not looking back.

“Awww, I miss (makes baby noises) crybaby,” she said mockingly. “You can watch Mercedes Moné every single week on AEW Dynamite, and in 10 days, you can watch me at AEW All In when I become the AEW Women’s Champion. Thank you.”

Erstwhile Sasha Banks’ decision to leave WWE was one of the most talked-about exits in modern wrestling. At the time, some thought her career might be over. She even admitted she considered walking away from professional wrestling altogether. But that moment of doubt turned into determination and a major money move.

Mercedes Moné is thriving in AEW

Since her jump to AEW, Moné has become one of the most high-profile women in wrestling. In her own words, leaving WWE helped her become the “highest-paid woman in the business.” Whether that figure is up for debate or not, there’s no denying her marketability has only grown.

Now fully locked in on her AEW career, Mercedes Moné is gunning for the AEW Women’s Championship. She’ll challenge Toni Storm for the title at All In: Texas next week.
