Mercedes Mone says “Goodbye” after stepping away from AEW

Mercedes Mone covered in cake

The CEO of women’s wrestling is stepping away from AEW and took to X/Twitter to post a one-word message

Mercedes Mone (formerly Sasha Banks) had a remarkable run in AEW, during which she held 13 different titles from various wrestling promotions at one point.

Mone lost a few of those titles in the latter half of 2025. The last title she lost was her TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale.

This past Wednesday, Mone was invited to the ring by Willow Nightingale, along with The Power, to celebrate Willow’s championship victory in the ring with Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander. A livid Mone proceeded to trash the party setup and was subsequently punished by Nightingale and her allies, with Willow powerbombing her before they all celebrated.

In a cinematic segment, Mone expressed her anguish and hatred for the AEW Women’s roster, angrily declaring that she never got any respect in AEW and that she’s taking a break. Her final word was that she will return to collect more than just titles.

Mercedes Mone’s One Word Post On X

Mone recently posted on X with the word “Goodbye” followed by a middle finger emoji.

Mercedes Mone can continue to wrestle for her 9 titles across other promotions during her AEW absence, but it remains to be seen how long the CEO of women’s wrestling’s hiatus will be.
