Mercedes Mone’s Next Title Challenger Confirmed After All In Loss

Mercedes Mone AEW

Mercedes Moné may have failed to add the AEW Women’s Championship to her collection at AEW All In: Texas, but her championship reign elsewhere remains intact, and her next challenger is now confirmed.

The high-stakes showdown with Toni Storm at All In didn’t go Moné’s way, marking her first singles loss in AEW. Despite the setback, Moné remains a major titleholder in the international wrestling scene and will now turn her full attention back to her run as the reigning RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion, a title she has proudly held for several months.

Moné originally won the RevPro title in a high-profile Title vs. Title match at the NJPW x CMLL x AEW Wrestle Dynasty supercard on January 5, 2025. In that match, she defeated Mina Shirakawa, putting both her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship and Shirakawa’s RevPro title on the line. The victory further solidified Moné’s global dominance and elevated her status across wrestling promotions.

Mercedes Moné’s Next Title Defense Set for RevPro Summer Sizzler

Moné is officially scheduled to defend her RevPro championship at the upcoming Summer Sizzler event, where she will face a newly crowned number-one contender: Safire Reed. Reed earned the opportunity after a hard-fought journey through a four-woman tournament, which was held to determine who would get the next shot at Moné’s title.

The decisive moment came at RevPro Live in Coventry on July 13, where Reed scored a significant victory over Emersyn Jayne in the finals of the tournament. Before that, Reed overcame a tough challenge from Kanji in the semifinals. On the other side, Jayne earned her place in the final by defeating Lizzy Evo in a competitive bout.

The upcoming match will mark Mercedes Moné’s second title defense since winning the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship earlier this year. Her first successful defense came against Kanji at High Stakes 2025, held on April 20, where Moné showed off the technical and psychological prowess that made her a top-tier champion across multiple promotions.

Now, Safire Reed, a former EVE Champion and rising star in the UK wrestling scene, steps up as the latest challenger. The matchup presents an intriguing contrast in experience, style, and motivation, and it’s shaping up to be one of RevPro’s most compelling women’s matches of the summer.

Despite her recent loss at All In, Mercedes Moné remains one of the most decorated and determined champions in wrestling today. As the Summer Sizzler event draws near, all eyes will be on whether she can continue her reign or whether Reed will shock the world and dethrone one of wrestling’s most talked-about competitors.
