Mercedes Mone Wins More Gold After AEW WrestleDream
Mercedes Mone has added even more gold to her haul just one day after she captured a title at AEW WrestleDream.
Ultimo Mone has been on a winning run like few others before her as she captures title after title after title. The longest-reigning TBS Champion in company history was in action at WrestleDream as she challenged Mina Shirakawa for the Interim ROH Women’s Television Championship.
Mone picked up the win in that bout, making it the eleventh title that Mone now holds simultaneously, overtaking Ultimo Dragon’s haul of ten. But The CEO still isn’t done.
One day after WrestleDream, Mone defeated Jody Threat to capture the Winnipeg Professional Wrestling Women’s Championship. This win puts Mone’s haul of titles to twelve.
The full list of championships currently held by Mercedes Mone is AEW’s TBS title, interim ROH Women’s TV title, CMLL Women’s title, BODYSLAM Women’s title, Discovery Wrestling Women’s title, EWA Women’s title, RevPro Undisputed British/Queen of Southside Women’s title, Prime Time Wrestling Women’s title, BestYa Women’s title, WPW Women’s title, and the AEW Owen Hart women’s tournament winner title.
Mercedes Mone Eyes Up More AEW Gold
Before Mone competed at WrestleDream, she confronted AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander after Statlander successfully defended her title against Toni Storm.
After Mone defeated Shirakawa, Statlander returned the favour, hinting at a huge title showdown between the stars in the not-too-distant future. Fans did not have to wait long for that match to be made official for Full Gear on November 22nd with Statlander’s title on the line.
Before that match takes place, Mone and Statlander could theoretically head up respective sides for the first-ever women’s Blood & Guts match in the company.
