Mercedes Mone And More “Banged Up” After AEW Revolution
Mercedes Mone is feeling the effects of her hard-hitting encounter with Momo Watanabe.
Revolution 2025 was full of all the thrills and spills AEW fans have come to expect from big pay-per-views, with a healthy dose of bloodshed thrown in.
While Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher went to war in a wildly violent Cage Match, Toni Storm and Mariah May both bled buckets during their grudge match for the Women’s World Championship. Something that shouldn’t have been a surprise when tables, chains, chairs, and even broken glass came into play.
Although their match didn’t have a stipulation, TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and her latest challenger Momo Watanabe also left it all in the ring.
Mercedes Mone Is “Messed Up”
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio after the event, Dave Meltzer noted that “many people” are banged up, before Bryan Alvarez confirmed that Mone and Watanabe are both “messed up.” He added that Watanabe left the arena on crutches.
Meltzer said: “And as far as I know, nobody is seriously hurt, but there are many people who are banged up. So as far as the severity, I don’t know.”
Alvarez: “Mercedes messed up. What Momo messed up. Momo left on crutches, and I think she hurt her ankle on some spot. It was not for kicking her in the face… although she kicked Mercedes right in the…actually, you know what? I think it was the neck because what I heard was bruised larynx on Mercedes, but, I mean, she was backstage and seemed to be largely okay, so I guess that’s something to just check on.”
There’s no word on whether Mone or Watanabe will miss any time.
