Mercedes Mone Makes Big Claim About AEW Double Or Nothing

Mercedes Mone AEW

Mercedes Mone has opened up about what AEW Double or Nothing meant to her.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Mercedes Mone finally returned to the ring for the first time in more than a year. The former WWE star made her AEW debut back in March, but her injury problems continued to keep her out of action.

At the event, Mone took on Willow Nightingale — who just so happened to be her opponent when she broke her ankle in 2023. Despite the time out of the ring, Mone got revenge on her rival, winning the TBS Championship.

Mone has been widely praised for her performance at Double or Nothing, especially after her lengthy absence.

In a new interview with TMZ, Mone reflected on her recovery from injury and comeback against Nightingale.

“I mean- Willow’s the one that I suffered my injury with one year ago, took me out for a whole year. The doctor said, they’re not sure if I was gonna be back in wrestling, but I told them, no, this is my life, this is my dream. Nobody can tell me, no, I can’t do it.

So I fought so hard to get back and Willow had something that I wanted and I told her that money changes everything. This past Sunday at Double or Nothing, we went out there and we stole the show. We tore it out of the park. She is legit one of the best that I’ve ever been in the ring with. I definitely can’t wait to tie it in the ring with her again,”

Mercedes Mone Credits AEW With Saving Her Life

Speaking in the hours after her win over Nightingale, Mercedes Mone said AEW had not only changed her life but saved her life.

The new champion said the company has given her new hope and new opportunities to create something special.

Mone has already made the first defence of the TBS gold, defeating Skye Blue on the May 29th episode of Dynamite.
