Mercedes Mone Names AEW Stars She Wants To Wrestle

Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone has revealed a list of top AEW stars she wants to meet inside the squared circle.

The AEW TBS Champion made her in-ring debut for Tony Khan’s organisation at Double Or Nothing in May 2024, defeating Willow Nightingale to win gold in her first bout for the company.

Mone made her name during a decade spent with WWE, becoming just the third Women’s Grand Slam Champion after epic rivalries with the likes of Charlotte Flair and Bayley.

The California-born star shockingly walked away from WWE in May 2022 whilst co-holder of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships with Naomi. The pair later revealed frustrations with booking led to their unexpected departure. Mone would enjoy a short stint with NJPW before eventually agreeing a move to AEW.

During a recent appearance on ‘Beyond The Fame with Jason Fraley‘, Mone revealed a number of AEW’s biggest names that she wishes to test herself against in the ring, with newly crowned AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May topping the impressive list of dream opponents:

“Mariah May has the [AEW Women’s] championship, so I’d love to face her.

Toni Storm is incredible. Thunder Rosa. Kris Statlander. Jamie Hayter just made her return at All In, so I’d love to step in the ring with her. The dreams are endless at AEW.

It’s not only the AEW roster, I also get to face the Stardom roster, the CMLL roster. AEW is going global. Any woman who wants to come after my championships, I’m always ready,”

Mercedes Mone Confirms Late Change To Title Match Finish

Following her departure from WWE, Mercedes Mone headed to Japan, debuting for NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom in January 2023.

Having lost the IWGP Women’s Championship following a 64 day reign, Mone was announced as an entrant into a one-night tournament at NJPW Resurgence to crown the inaugural Strong Women’s Champion.

The tournament was ultimately won by Willow Nightingale, who defeated Mone in the tournament final. Mone, however, has recently confirmed speculation that she was originally slated to win the title before an injury forced a late change to plans.
