Mercedes Mone “A Tremendous Asset” Says AEW’s Paul Wight
Wrestling legend Paul Wight says that Mercedes Mone – the former Sasha Banks – would be a tremendous asset to any company, including AEW.
Mercedes Mone recently made her debut for New Japan Pro Wrestling as her time in WWE officially came to a quiet end when she turned up at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in the Tokyo Dome.
Mone confronted IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI after her successful title defence, attacking the champion and issuing a challenge for the gold at Battle In The Valley in February.
However, rumours persist that Mercedes Mone could have even more in her wrestling future, with a potential debut in AEW on the horizon. Many believed that Mone was set to be Saraya’s mystery partner on the 11th of January edition of Dynamite but she recently named Toni Storm as her teammate but this could well prove to have been a red herring.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, AEW announcer Paul Wight was asked about Mercedes Mone and he only had good things to say:
“I think she’d be a tremendous asset to any company. She’s a star and has an incredible fan following. Any company would be glad to have her. For a long time, everyone got spoiled because there was one company to work for. Now there are multiple viable companies again to work for. It gives talents an opportunity to express themselves and create the deals they want to make. It gives a chance for someone stagnant in one company to reinvent themselves.”
The 11th of January edition of AEW Dynamite takes place in the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA. Saraya and Storm are advertised to face AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter and Dr. Britt Baker DMD in tag team action while the final match of the best-of-7-series for the AEW Trios Title also takes place as The Elite face Death Triangle in an Escalera De La Muerte match.
