Matt Hardy Reveals Who Vince McMahon Was “Such A Huge Advocate For”
Former WWE Superstar and current TNA World Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy spoke about Vince McMahon’s deep admiration for Eddie Guerrero.
On his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Hardy revealed that McMahon quickly took a liking to Guerrero when he arrived in WWE as part of The Radicalz in early 2000.
Vince loved the entertainment aspect behind him, I think when The Radicalz came over, Eddie, by far and away, was Vince’s favourite just because of his personality.
Guerrero’s magnetic charisma and unique persona captivated McMahon in a way that extended beyond his in-ring talents. Hardy explained that McMahon’s fondness for Guerrero even surpassed his appreciation for other stars of that era, including Chris Jericho, who had been receiving significant attention in WWE during the late ’90s and early 2000s.
Even with Chris, I think Chris Jericho was looked at by Vince as somebody who had a good personality. But I still think that Eddie even superseded what he saw in Chris.
Guerrero’s sense of humour played a major role in winning over the WWE Chairman. Hardy highlighted that Guerrero’s playful side struck a chord with McMahon, contributing to their close bond.
He connected with his humour, it really won Vince over, and Vince was such a huge advocate for Eddie Guerrero at the end.
According to Hardy, it was Guerrero’s vibrant personality combined with McMahon’s appreciation for his entertaining style that solidified Guerrero as one of WWE’s most beloved figures.
