Matt Hardy Tips NXT Star For Main Roster Switch
Matt Hardy doesn’t think a top NXT star will be with the brand for much longer.
After ending his run with AEW, Ethan Page wasted little time in signing with WWE. Shortly after putting pen to paper, Page arrived on NXT television and made himself a fixture of the main event picture.
The star went on to win the NXT Title at Heatwave in July before losing the gold to Trick Williams as NXT premiered on the CW Network on October 1st.
Page ended the night looking at the lights thanks to a Go 2 Sleep from special guest referee CM Punk.
Matt Hardy Thinks Ethan Page Is “Destined” For The Main Roster
Speaking on an episode of his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the veteran said Page had enjoyed a good run in NXT and praised him for leaving AEW to try and better himself.
He had a good run, you know, he had a great run, came in and he rose to prominence very quickly and became NXT Champion, and I love the fact that he left AEW on his own [terms],”
Hardy added that Page is entertaining with an ability to have a good match with anyone.
“I do think he is destined for the main roster, sooner rather than later,” Hardy claimed. “He’s a solid worker, he can go out there and have a great match with anyone, and he is an entertainer. He gets the entertainment aspect of pro wrestling.”
On May 2nd it was reported that Ethan Page had finally left AEW after first trying to get out of his contract back in February. Page had been with the company since 2021, but had found TV time hard to come by for several months.
