Matt Hardy Gives Special Praise To Tony Khan
Matt Hardy thinks Tony Khan made the right decision.
In recent weeks, Bandido and Brody King have enjoyed a rapid rise in popularity after joining forces as Brodido.
This saw the pair make it to the finals of the World Tag Team Tournament. In that final, they went to a 30-minute time limit draw with FTR.
As a result, both Brodido and FTR advanced to face the Hurt Syndicate at Forbidden Door. When all was said and done, it was Brodido who got the win, and with it, the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
On the latest episode of his Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, the former AEW star heaped praise on the duo, noting that it was good to see a talented tag team with a lot of momentum.
“They kinda came out of nowhere, which is amazing. I was hearing a little backstory from the scrum they did afterwards, I guess they’ve been pals for a while. They’ve worked together a lot, and they’ve been friends for a bit. I think they’re both individually talented, and I love that they’re gelling, and it seems like people are behind them.
It’s cool that they’ve created a tag team that has some nice momentum in AEW.”
When it was put to Hardy that Tony Khan should be given credit for striking while the iron’s hot, the veteran said that he couldn’t agree more. He added that it will be important for Khan to remain in touch with live crowds as time goes on.
“No doubt. As time ticks on, that’s going to be more important for TK to listen to the crowd and cater to the crowd and do what the crowd asks him to do, especially the crowd in the live arena, not the crowd on X.”
Matt Hardy Delighted To See AEW Star Back
Elsewhere on his podcast, Matt Hardy said he was really happy to see Wardlow make his long-awaited return to AEW at Forbidden Door. The star had been absent since March 2024 and was last seen challenging Samoa Joe for the World Championship.
It was subsequently reported that Wardlow had been dealing with a knee injury before landing a role in American Gladiators earlier in 2025.
Although Wardlow has returned as a heel to join up with the Don Callis Family, Hardy beleives it’s only a matter of time until he’s back to being a beloved babyface.
