Matt Hardy Fires Back At Ex-WWE Star Spreading Lies

Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy has responded to a former WWE superstar who claimed that Hardy used to complain about being hurt during matches.

For over 30 years, Matt Hardy has been a successful pro wrestler who is one half of the Hardys tag team with his younger brother Jeff.

The Hardys are currently the TNA Tag Team Champions who are considered one of the best tag teams in the history of the business. Both men are also successful singles wrestlers since they are former TNA World Champions and Jeff is also a former WWE Champion.

While Matt Hardy never won the WWE Championship, he did hold multiple singles titles throughout his WWE career as well, including the ECW Title and the US Title.

In addition to working for TNA, Matt is also a popular podcaster who isn’t shy about giving his opinions about the current state of pro wrestling and moments from the past.

On his X/Twitter account, Matt Hardy posted a lengthy response to former WWE superstar Perry Saturn. In a video where Saturn was talking to Maven, Saturn claimed that Matt complained to his WWE bosses about Saturn being a stiff worker who hurt Matt in their matches. Matt denied these claims made by Saturn.

This is abjectly false. I’ve never legitimately complained about anything during my career – Including working with snug workers, my booking or working with people I don’t see eye to eye with. People who actually know me & my character absolutely know this. I’ve certainly never complained to Vince about anything, LOL.

I also never worked with Perry for 6 months, either. I’ve worked with him probably a couple dozen times over my entire career, mainly in Radicals tag matches. I will admit that when asked the question of who’s the most difficult person I’ve ever had to work with, I’ve stated Saturn. That’s the truth.

Upon coming to WWE, he tried to take over & dictate what Jeff & I would do whenever he worked with us. I pushed back & made it clear we’re the Hardy Boyz, we have to do “Hardy Boyz” things in our matches. It felt to me he was trying to compensate for being part of a group that consisted of the incredible talents Eddie Guerrero, Benoit & Dean Malenko.

The group that Matt was referring to was known as The Radicalz. They were formed in early 2000 when Guerrero, Benoit, Malenko & Saturn jumped from WCW to WWE and WWE put them together as a group.

Matt Hardy: “It’s Our Responsibility To Defend Ourselves”

Perry Saturn has had a rough life health-wise after his wrestling days ended. As his message continued, Matt Hardy acknowledged that while also making it clear that it was important to defend yourself if somebody makes a false accusation.

“I’m very disappointed in Perry for manufacturing this story. I honestly feel sorry for him, I know he’s been through a really difficult journey in the last few years of his life. I wish him all the best & hope he can find happiness & remain healthy. Life’s too short to harbor anger & resentment, so that’s something I never do in my advanced age.

It is also our responsibility to defend ourselves if someone falsely tries to paint us in a negative light. That’s why I wanted to set the record straight with a response. I am here to set the example that it can done with grace & without name-calling.”

Even though Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy work for TNA, they were featured in a WWE Vault video this week looking back on their legendary WWE moments. Since WWE has a working relationship with TNA, they can do projects like this now.
