Matt Hardy Discloses Original WWE Salary
Matt Hardy has a long and successful career in wrestling but the tag team specialist has now revealed what was in his first pay packets from WWE.
Matt Hardy, along with his brother Jeff, has found success in the wrestling business wherever he has gone. The brothers are probably best known for their careers in WWE where they captured multiple tag team championships and helped redefine tag team wrestling alongside The Dudleyz, Edge, and Christian.
But before those heady heights, The Hardys were used as enhancement talent on WWE television, helping make the stars of the mid-nineties in the company.
Discussing his early career on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Big Money Matt revealed just how much money was in those early WWE days for him:
“Yes, our developmental bills, initially in the beginning were $300 a week, and then you would get $300 if you wrestled a match. That was our developmental deal, and we’d signed it for three years initially.”
“So just considering that we’re getting $300 every single week coming to our house, we were ecstatic as you can imagine, I mean, those contracts, they were the smallest contracts, obviously there but like we were just excited to get our feet in the water.”
Now part of AEW, Matt Hardy was recently taken out after confronting Christian Cage and Luchasaurus following Cage’s vicious attack on Jungle Boy.
