Matt Hardy Wants To Dance With Unlikely WWE Tag Team

Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy is currently signed with TNA Wrestling.

He serves as one-half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions alongside his brother Jeff Hardy. This marks Hardy’s fourth reign with the titles in TNA. After leaving WWE in March 2020 for creative reasons, Hardy joined AEW and later transitioned back to TNA in early 2024.

On the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy discussed possibly wrestling Kit Wilson and Elton Prince, collectively known as Pretty Deadly. He praised the duo and hoped that someday he and his brother would get to square off against the WWE tag team. He also hoped to have a dance with them.

“I have never met them, at least now, since they have built a big name for themselves. I may have in the past at some point, and I just wasn’t aware of who they were. But now that they are a team, and they have a little equity as Pretty Deadly.”

“I’m not sure I’ve met them, and once again, maybe I have when they were in another life, in another role, or another character. With that being said, I wish them all the success. It seems like they’re they’re pretty talented, they’re pretty good. And hopefully one day down the road, the Hardys and Pretty Deadly, we dance.

Matt Hardy Wants To Return To WWE

Matt Hardy has openly expressed his interest in a WWE return several times after leaving AEW. He’s optimistic about returning to the Stamford-based promotion with his brother, Jeff Hardy, for “one last hurrah.”

“Maybe so. I think we do want to do the WWE Hall of Fame. I think we would like maybe one last hurrah with WWE, and that could even be possible while working with TNA too, so we’ll see,” Hardy said during an interview with Ariel Helwani.

The alliance between TNA Wrestling and WWE, announced in late 2024, has allowed talent exchanges and cross-promotional appearances (like Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry on NXT) in the past year. This makes Matt and Jeff Hardy’s eventual return to WWE more likely.

For those who don’t remember, The Hardy Boyz had a one-off appearance at WWE NXT Roadblock, where they defended their TNA tag titles against NXT’s Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom).
