Matt Hardy Wants Top AEW Star To End Bryan Danielson’s Career

Bryan Danielson AEW

Matt Hardy has named Hangman Page as the man he believes should end Bryan Danielson’s AEW career.

Popular 43 year-old Danielson upset the odds at AEW All In on 25th August, defeating Swerve Strickland in a title vs career bout to capture the AEW World Championship in front of a crowd of over 50,000 fans at London’s Wembley Stadium.

The legendary star has openly stated that he will now retire from full-time in ring competition once he has been defeated for his newly won title and Hardy believes that he there is only one man who should send the Aberdeen, Washington native into retirement.

Speaking during a recent edition of his podcast, ‘The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy‘, the 49 year-old former TNA World Heavyweight Champion set out his reasons for selecting Page as the man to retire Danielson before offering his thoughts on where ‘Hangman’ would go from there:

“I think Hangman is going to be great as a heel. Obviously he’s been so vicious. He’s been such a d*******, just a really a malicious, terrible individual.

I would love to see that happen, if he was the guy that actually retired Danielson, take the title from him, whatever, and you could build back to the Swerve thing and I think there would be automatic equity in it already if they did that.”

AEW Will Not Air Bryan Danielson Footage

Bryan Danielson successfully defended his AEW World Championship against Jack Perry at AEW All Out on 7th September but soon saw the celebrations cut short after a stunning attack by members of the Blackpool Combat Club.

So vicious was the attack on Danielson, AEW have stated that they will not replay footage that included Jon Moxley placing a bag over the Champion’s head.

Danielson was given oxygen and was assisted by a devastated Wheeler Yuta as the pay per view came to a close.
