One match at the AEW and Ring of Honor taping in Chicago on Wednesday night had to be called off due to an apparent serious injury.

AEW Dynamite in Chicago saw the start of the Continental Classic as the Gold Block got underway. The show also saw a power-mad Christian Cage rename Luchasaurus as punishment for losing at AEW Full Gear.

Before and after Dynamite, Ring of Honor matches were taped that will air on HonorClub on the 30th of November but one tag team match featuring Christopher Daniels, Matt Sydal, Cole Karter, and Griff Garrison had to be stopped.

Match Stopped Due To Injury After AEW Dynamite

PWInsider has reported that Daniels and Sydal picked up the win after the referee had to call a stop to the contest. Sydal was said to have hit a twisting splash on Cole Karter but landed hard on Karter’s face which is believed to have led to a concussion.

Daniels and match referee Paul Turned are said to have immediately realised something had gone wrong and called for Doc Sampson to check on Karter. Turner then called for the bell to end the match. Karter was said to have walked out under his own power but took a long time to get out of the ring and do so.
