Massive WWE Star Allegedly Retiring In 2026
The WWE Universe will allegedly bid farewell to another one of the greatest superstars in history in 2026, after John Cena and AJ Styles.
Earlier this year, John Cena retired from in-ring competition following his defeat against Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Meanwhile, AJ Styles has also announced his intention to hang up his boots in 2026.
Ahead of Cena’s retirement, the Leader of the Cenation shared the ring one last time with one of his greatest rivals, Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate returned to WWE after nearly two years at SummerSlam to take the 17-time world champion out. He later squashed Cena in a match at Wrestlepalooza.
Is 2026 Brock Lesnar’s Final Year In WWE?
In 2025, Gunther gained the reputation of being a legend killer after retiring both Goldberg and John Cena. Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts predicted that The Ring General will also retire Brock Lesnar in 2026.
The 42-year-old believes the former Universal Champion will turn babyface after WrestleMania, leading into his final program with Gunther.
I think while I said Gunther won’t simply retire people, I think Gunther will retire Brock Lesnar in 2026. And I think he will do it with Brock Lesnar as a babyface. I don’t think Gunther is turning babyface, but Brock is a great babyface. We know this. Cowboy Brock was beloved. We know Brock Lesnar is a great babyface. We know Gunther is a great heel. I think Brock Lesnar turns babyface sometime after WrestleMania. And I think Gunther retires a babyface Brock Lesnar in 2026. I think that’s gonna be the big retirement in 2026. [50:30 onwards]
