Massive Update on Ex-WWE Star’s Health Who Was on Life Support
Former WWE star’s health condition was so critical that he was put on life support.
Abraham Washington, real name Brian Jossie, recently faced a critical health crisis that landed him in the hospital for nearly a month. In July 2025, after experiencing severe stomach pain at a bodybuilding event, he was rushed to the emergency room. He was diagnosed with a tear in his intestines, which required immediate surgery.
Although the procedure was initially successful, a few complications arose, including aspiration of fluid into his lungs. This forced the doctors to put him on a ventilator, an induced coma, and life support for a period. Thanks to prompt medical intervention and the unwavering support of his loving partner, Marnae June Barnum, he survived the frightening ordeal. He was discharged and then sent home three days ago, where he continues to recover.
Ex-WWE Star Abraham Washington Gets a Second Chance at Life
The ex-WWE star’s wife, Marnae June Barnum, recently updated fans on his recovery via social media. She logged on to Instagram to express deep gratitude for his survival. She described his progress, noting that he went from barely sitting up to walking out of the hospital unassisted.
“After almost a month in the hospital, Brian is finally home! What a crazy, unexpected month August has been. I’m just so grateful to have him alive and here with me. Just last week, he could barely sit on the edge of his bed without help. Today, when we were leaving they went to get a wheel chair, he refused, and he insisted on walking out on his own with me.”
Washington made his WWE debut in 2009, initially appearing on ECW with his own talk show, The Abraham Washington Show. His tenure lasted until 2012, after which he continued wrestling on the independent circuit and pursued bodybuilding. Recently, before his health scare, he had been active in bodybuilding competitions and creating social media content showcasing his fitness journey.
The team at TJR Wrestling extends its heartfelt best wishes to Abraham Washington while he continues to heal.
