Massive AEW Star Reportedly Close To Joining WWE
The exodus from AEW to WWE continues.
Wrestling stars continue to move from AEW to WWE, with reports suggesting that Britt Baker could be the next big name to make the leap.
Once considered the face of AEW’s women’s division, Baker has been off television for an extended period, sparking speculation about her future. Now, former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman has shed some light on the topic. On The Last Word podcast, Coachman claimed that Baker is done with AEW and is “very close” to signing with the Triple H-led unit. Though no official confirmation has been made, the rumor has stirred excitement across the wrestling world.
“Alright, so I just got in real time. You guys know, I’ve just been breaking news left and right, and I have yet when it’s in context, I have yet to be wrong. So, I just found out there’s a name, a female name, out there that is this close to signing with the WWE. Any guesses?…Gone from AEW [Britt Baker], close.” [H/T Sportskeeda]
Rusev Returned To WWE After A Stint At AEW
On the RAW after WrestleMania, Rusev made his return to WWE after five years. The Bulgarian Brute interrupted a match between The New Day and The Alpha Academy on the show. He came out to a huge ovation to flee the ring of the World Tag Team Champions and attack Akira Tozawa and Otis.
In addition to Rusev, stars such as Aleister Black, Penta, Rey Fenix, Rocky Saints, and Mariah May are a few stars that have moved from AEW to WWE this year. If the rumors of Baker moving to the Stamford-based promotion are true, it will be exciting to see where she fits in the star-studded women’s division.
