Mark Henry Tips Top WWE Star To Become A Coach
Mark Henry thinks a top WWE star could find success with the company after they retire.
Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, CM Punk has gone out of his way to pass on his experience to the next generation. This has seen the star make several appearances on NXT television, as well as attending tapings to offer advice, even when injured.
Punk was also on hand for the latest set of WWE try-outs during SummerSlam weekend along with Shawn Michaels.
On October 1st, NXT will premiere on the CW Network and the brand is celebrating in style with a show in Chicago. After appearing on NXT on September 17th, it was confirmed that CM Punk would be the special guest referee in the main event between Trick Williams and NXT Champion Ethan Page.
Mark Henry Discusses CM Punk’s Future
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry gave his thoughts on Punk’s involvement in NXT and suggested he could easily transition into becoming a coach when he retires.
“100%. Moves right in, seamless, not a problem, good teacher, has command of the people that he works with and being a locker room guy is more than being impartial and being level-headed, sometimes it’s being able to push the button … everybody can teach, it’s just are you an effective teacher in your style, you know the curriculum that you write like is it a structured curriculum?
Is it something that every single person does exactly the same thing, or do you teach everybody differently? Like Punk can teach everybody differently, but he also I think could stand to a structured curriculum.”
Just days after his appearance on NXT, CM Punk will face Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood.
