Mark Henry Has Warning For AEW
Mark Henry has some thoughts about how AEW can improve its product.
For over 20 years, Mark Henry was a WWE guy who became a World Champion for the first time after spending 15 years in the company and was eventually inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame after he retired.
After spending three years in AEW as a coach, mentor, and a guy who got people ready for the Rampage main event, Mark Henry’s deal expired and he has moved on from All Elite Wrestling.
In an interview with Teddy Long and Mac Davis on their “Road Trip After Hours” YouTube channel, Henry made it clear that he wishes AEW well while also warning them about how they need to rectify some issues that exist.
“In some capacity, the newer companies have people that don’t want to be overshadowed by people that came in and that’s just backwards thinking. Hopefully, they’ll get that rectified, but that starts at the top. If they don’t get it together, I feel like they’re not going to do as good as they can.”
“I wish them well. I don’t want them to go away because it will hurt the boys. I want the boys to have leverage, so I pray for AEW’s success for the simple fact that I want all these guys to realize that we’re all working for each other and the companies are just who pays us.”
“Your loyalty should be to the person that life is in your hand, so every step I take in the ring, that’s who I work for. I work for the guy. That mentality needs to come back.”
While Henry has moved on from AEW, he is now the booker of All Caribbean Wrestling and is a regular co-host on the popular Busted Open Radio show on Sirius XM.
Mark Henry Appears On WWE Raw With His Son
This past Monday on WWE Raw in Austin, Texas, Mark Henry was shown in the crowd in his home state with his son Jacob Henry. It was Mark’s first time on WWE TV in over three years because obviously, he wasn’t going to be shown on WWE television while he worked for AEW.
Jacob Henry could follow in his father’s footsteps some day because he has already signed a WWE NIL deal as a collegiate wrestler at Oklahoma. Perhaps when his collegiate wrestling career is over, Jacob could step into the WWE ring like his father did.
SURPRISE!
