Mark Briscoe Wins ROH Title In Emotional Fashion

Mark Briscoe

Mark Briscoe didn’t leave a dry eye in the house as he stole the show at ROH Supercard of Honor by capturing the ROH World Championship.

Mark Briscoe has spent the vast majority of his wrestling career as one half of an exceptional tag team alongside his brother Jay. Tragedy struck in January 2023, however, as Jay Briscoe was killed in a car accident leaving Mark to carry the flag for his family in the wrestling business by himself.

Following Jay’s death Mark Briscoe joined the AEW roster as well as still competing on the Ring of Honor brand that The Briscoes had been synonymous with throughout their careers. The Briscoes were the reigning ROH Tag Team Champions at the time of Jay’s death but now Mark has captured another title previously held by his late brother.

Mark Briscoe Wins Big At ROH Supercard Of Honor

At ROH Supercard of Honor, Mark Briscoe challenged Eddie Kingston for the ROH World Championship eleven years to the day after Jay Briscoe first won that same title from Kevin Steen – now best known as WWE’s Kevin Owens.

After Mark Briscoe picked up the win to claim the title he celebrated emotionally with his family including Papa Briscoe, as the ROH locker room emptied as on-screen rivalries were put aside to celebrate Mark’s achievement and the legacy of the late Jay Briscoe.
