Mark Briscoe Pays Tribute To Jay Briscoe On AEW Dynamite

Mark Briscoe paid tribute to his late brother Jay Briscoe on AEW Dynamite on the first anniversary of the star’s tragic death.

It was on the 17th of January 2023 that the shocking news broke that Jamin Pugh (Jay Briscoe) had died following a car crash in Laurel, Delaware. Briscoe’s two daughters had been in the car at the time of the accident and there was concern that one of them would be unable to walk again due to her injuries.

Following Briscoe’s passing, Mark Briscoe began to appear on AEW television vowing to carry on for his brother and continue their wrestling legacy. Together The Briscoes had dominated tag team wrestling over the last two decades in Ring of Honor, capturing the ROH Tag Team Championship 13 times.

Mark Briscoe Brings Out Jay’s Family On AEW Dynamite

On the first anniversary of Jay Briscoe’s death, AEW presented Dynamite from North Charleston, South Carolina, and Mark Briscoe was given the chance to pay tribute to his brother.

In an emotional speech, Mark Briscoe brought up how his nieces had been in the car and referenced the fact that there had been the belief that one would never walk again. Mark then brought out Jay’s children who all thankfully were able to walk out onto the stage to join him. They all embraced as a tribute video to Jay Briscoe played.

Mark Briscoe has performed mainly as a singles competitor after his brother’s death but has been part of some multi-man tag team matches as well. Briscoe was a part of the first Continental Classic but only picked up three points in that tournament.
