Mariah May Faces Personal AEW Title Challenge
Mariah May’s treachery might come back to haunt her as she now knows who the next challenger for her AEW Women’s World Championship is.
After Mariah May successfully defended her AEW Women’s Title against Anna Jay on the November 16th episode of Collision, a Championship Champagne Celebration with her good friend Mina Shirakawa was announced for Full Gear.
To kick off the celebration, Shirakawa was out first and introduced May as photos of the pair adorned the stage. The Women’s Champion then addressed fans, commenting that there isn’t a woman alive who can beat her, before saying she couldn’t have accomplished what she has without Shirakawa.
The two women then linked arms and drank their champagne to toast the champion. As Mina Shirakawa began to dance the night away, Mariah May had evil intentions. Grabbing a bottle of champagne, May tried to hit her friend, but she was caught and Shirakawa kicked the bottle out of her hand. Before May could gather herself, she was tackled off the stage and the pair crashed through a table below. Mina Shirakawa has since shown off the extent of her injuries after that fall.
Mariah May Faces Familiar Title Threat
On the 27th of November edition of Dynamite, Mina Shirakawa explained to Renee Paquette that she’d been on alert for Mariah May ever since May viciously turned on Toni Storm earlier this year. May interrupted the interview and this time smashed a bottle over Shirakawa’s head.
It was also confirmed on the show that Mina Shirakawa will challenge Mariah May for her AEW Women’s World Championship on the December 11th Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite.
