Mariah May Hopes AEW Rival Is Dead

Mariah May entrance

Mariah May is in a fighting mood.

At All In, Mariah May defeated her former friend Toni Storm to claim the AEW Women’s World Title in front raucous crowd inside Wembley Stadium. The win was the culmination of a nine-month-long storyline that began when May joined the company in late 2023.

After claiming the gold, May read a eulogy for Storm at the post-show press conference, suggesting the wrestling world will never see her again.

Although May is due to make the first defence of her title against Nyla Rose on the September 4th edition of Dynamite, it’s her rivalry with Storm that continues to capture the imagination.

During an appearance on Rasslin’ with Brandon F. Walker, May admitted she still loves Storm, but she had to take her out.

“I didn’t like her, I loved her. I still love her. [Asked why she destroyed her] Well, there can only be one, and now it’s me,”

When asked whether her feud with Storm is over, May agreed and suggested the star might never come back.

“Yeah. [Asked if she thought Storm thinks it’s over] I don’t think she thinks. I don’t think there’s a single thought in that woman’s head anymore. She was humiliated at Wembley. She lost, her butler cried. She danced out of the arena into the street. Has anyone seen her since? Does anyone know where Toni Storm even is? Does anyone care? I don’t,”

After May claimed to have killed Storm, it was put to her that her rival is very much alive. Unsurprisingly, the British star didn’t take the news well.

“Have you spoken to her? Do you know something I don’t? So how do you know anything about her whereabouts? She could be dead, hopefully. Fingers crossed,”

May added that she thinks Storm is retired and will never return to the ring.

Toni Storm Eyeing Mariah May Rematch

Despite May’s comments, Toni Storm has already been talking up a huge rematch with her rival in Australia in 2025.

Storm said that after facing May in her backyard in London, it was time to turn the tables in 2025. The former Woman’s Champion said she’d love to “beat the ever-loving crap” out of May in front of her friends and family.

On the pre-show for All In, AEW announced that Grand Slam was heading to the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia on February 15th, 2025.
