Mariah May Given New WWE Name

Mariah May

One week after turning up in WWE, Mariah May has been given a new name along with a good slice of old-fashioned Hollywood glamour.

At Revolution, Mariah May lost a bloody battle to long-time rival “Timeless” Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s Title. The “Hollywood Ending” capped off a storyline that began when May signed with the company back in November 2023. And that was the last AEW fans would see of Mariah May.

On the June 3rd edition of NXT, several members of the roster were in the ring arguing about who should get the first crack at Jacy Jayne’s newly won NXT Women’s Championship. When that ended in a brawl, the lights went out, and when they came back on, Mariah May was standing on a perch as she sent a warning to the roster that she’ll be the next NXT Women’s Champion.

The commentary team were overcome with excitement at May’s arrival, but neither they nor May herself referred to her by name. But now she’s been given a WWE name as revealed on the June 10th edition of NXT.

Mariah May’s WWE Gimmick Oddly Familiar

A vignette harking back to old Hollywood with an apporopriate voiceover and spinning headlines aired featuring May becoming The Glamour. At the end of the vignette, her new WWE name was revealed to be Blake Monroe.

WWE’s presentation of the star has already got fans noticing the obvious comparison between Monroe and her former AEW rival, Timeless Toni Storm.
