Mariah May Discovers AEW WrestleDream Challenger

Mariah May AEW

Mariah May will be bringing the glamour to WrestleDream but she’ll have a fight on her hands to leave that show still AEW Women’s World Champion.

Tony Khan has admitted to several challenges for the Title Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite with late changes having to take place.

One of those saw Britt Baker forced out of her match with Willow Nightingale due to illness. Nightingale and Baker had been due to clash with a shot at Mariah May’s AEW Women’s Title on the line but that opportunity was still open to the former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion.

Instead of facing Baker, Nightingale instead had to contend with three former AEW Women’s World Champions as she faced Nyla Rose, Jamie Hayter, and Saraya in a four-way bout. One long-time absent AEW star returned during the match nailing Hayter with a steel chair leading to Hayter abandoning the match in favour of revenge.

Mariah May Nails Willow Nightingale With Disgusting Headbutt

With Harley Cameron causing chaos during the match as well, Willow Nightingale stacked her and Saraya in the ring to pick up the win and book her WrestleDream title match. After the bout, May met Nightingale at the top of the ramp and nailed the challenger with a vicious headbutt before whipping her with the title belt.

Later in the show, Willow Nightingale got a measure of revenge as she laid out May with a pounce backstage before vowing to become the next AEW Women’s World Champion.

The show also saw Daniel Garcia finally end the speculation about his future in AEW while Swerve Strickland’s return to the company was announced.
