A wrestling legend claims there’s a lack of respect from younger talent, and it’s affecting the AEW backstage environment.

The WWE & TNA Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley revealed in a recent interview that he had talks with AEW in the past, but he never felt comfortable going there.

According to D-Von, AEW owner Tony Khan wanted him to wrestle for the company, but D-Von wasn’t interested and was looking for a more backstage role.

In an interview with VideoGamer, D-Von Dudley claimed that some of his All Elite friends are frustrated.

“I don’t know if I would’ve felt comfortable in AEW. There’s just certain things about the organization that I don’t like. And Tony Khan lets that happen. I think the talent is great, there’s no question about that. I’ve got friends in AEW and a lot of the talent in AEW have the same frustration that I see. They just wish that certain people wouldn’t be calling the shots and that Tony would take more control.”

As he continued, D-Von claimed that the business has changed and that there’s a lack of respect from younger talent.

“The business has changed tremendously. I feel, and so many other wrestlers feel this way, there’s a lack of respect from some of the younger talent. And that’s fine. It’s just because they weren’t taught the proper ways when coming into the business. People who are older than me, people who I used to watch during the Hogan and Andre era, I still respect and love them dearly for what they did in terms of entertaining me as a child. And the business has changed. We don’t have many people that do that anymore.”

AEW May Run An All-Women’s Show

The ROH Women’s Champion, Athena, recently made a statement that AEW’s Tony Khan is planning to run an all-women’s show in the future.

“Absolutely. I know TK has absolutely thought about that; it’s just about timing when it comes to those things. We have the best roster in the world. I know everybody says it, but we actually do have the best roster in the world. I do know that is on his brain, it’s been on his brain since I have been in AEW at least. It’s just about timing.”
