“Mami vs. Mamacita” – WWE Star Teases Dream Match With Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley is currently at the center of a dramatic storyline involving Iyo Sky and Asuka.
Tensions peaked when Iyo Sky and Ripley became close allies, and Asuka, a longtime friend and former tag partner of SKY, grew increasingly upset over their evolving relationship. The Empress of Tomorrow feels abandoned and betrayed by SKY’s new loyalty to Ripley.
Throughout September, the storyline accelerated as Ripley and SKY continued to back each other in key matches, leaving Asuka increasingly isolated. At times, Kairi Sane attempted to mediate, but Asuka repeatedly found herself in disputes, not just with Ripley, but with Sky for ignoring her requests.
On September 15, 2025, an episode of Raw, Asuka confronted Iyo Sky again after SKY defended Stephanie Vaquer, who beat Kairi San in a singles match that night. SKY and Vaquer are set to go one-on-one for the vacant Women’s World Championship at Wrestlepalooza on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
On the same night, Ripley met Vaquer backstage and warned her that she would be coming for her after Wrestlepalooza, whether she became a champion or not.

Mami and La Primiera are two of the most loved female wrestlers by the WWE Universe. Both women have witnessed exponential growth and success in WWE, a big thanks to their die-hard fans who support them. That said, witnessing them inside the ring against each other would surely be a dream come true for many fans. Not only that, but Vaquer vs Ripley is a dream come true for Vaquer herself.
Stephanie Vaquer recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, where she was asked to comment on her future dream matches. She named Asuka and Rhea Ripley as her dream opponents.
“One-on-one with Asuka. I really want because it’s not been one-on-one. Asuka or Rhea, Mami versus Mamacita.”
Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer recently formed a strong connection on WWE television. Both returned to NXT alongside Lyra Valkyria to challenge Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx) at Homecoming on September 16. Ripley ultimately secured the win for her team by delivering a Rip Tide to Jayne.
