Mama Rhodes Fires Shot At John Cena

John Cena cuts a fired up promo.

John Cena continues to make enemies.

At Elimination Chamber, John Cena might have gotten the world talking, but his actions have ensured he isn’t winning any friends.

In the minutes after winning the Elimination Chamber to earn a shot at a record-breaking 17th World Championship, Cena sold his soul to The Rock to leave fans stunned. The switch was hammered home by a thunderous low blow and beatdown on Cody Rhodes to leave the Undisputed WWE Champion a bloody mess.

Although he’s been absent from television since, it’s been announced that both Cena and Rhodes will feature on the March 17 edition of Raw. And it seems at least one member of the Rhodes’ family will be keeping a close eye on proceedings.

John Cena Should Be Ashamed

During an interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda, Rhodes’ mother, Michelle, said she was shocked by Cena’s actions and never expected him to attack her son.

“I was just shocked. Completely shocked. I would have never, never thought that was going to happen.”

When asked what she would say to Cena if given the chance, she said the 16-time World Champion should be ashamed of himself for turning his back on everyone after such a beautiful career.

“I would say, John, you should be ashamed of yourself. You know, beautiful career. Everybody loved you, and now you’re just a [beeped-out word]. That’d be about it.”

Mama Rhodes isn’t the only person unimpressed following Elimination Chamber, with NBA legend Carmelo Anthony expressing his disappointment at John Cena and his actions. The 10-time NBA All-Star compared Cena to Hulk Hogan and said he didn’t like how he “switched up.”

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that John Cena and Randy Orton will be at WWE Backlash. The event is scheduled to take place at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 10.
