Malakai Black Interested In Going After AEW Trios Tag Team Titles
Malakai Black has made it clear that he wants to go after the AEW Tag Team Titles with his House of Black group.
There are many stables in pro wrestling these days and one of the groups in AEW right now features Malakai Black as the leader of the House of Black stable. Black is joined by a tattooed big man Brody King, a talented Australian named Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart, who doesn’t wrestle in AEW much, but certainly adds a different vibe to the group.
Currently, House of Black is not being featured much on AEW TV since the last time Malakai Black wrestled on TV was on the January 13th edition of Rampage. They also wrestled at Winter is Coming in December. Prior to that, Black was on a break for three months.
With regard to the future of House of Black, Malakai Black told HardLore that he is targeting the AEW Trios Tag Team Titles.
“It would make more sense for us to chase the Trios titles. I feel like it’s time for us to do something that turns more heads than just being the House of Black and give people an extra reason to bite down on what it is that we present to the world.”
Malakai Black also spoke about potentially wrestling his best friend Brody King in the future as well.
“The reason why is because best friends make better enemies. I think that him and me can bring something out of each other that is animalistic. We can pull back the curtain on a friendship level — actually move the current in front of a friendship level — and just go, ‘All right, we’re going to fight,’ and we’re going to fight and not have any hatred towards each other.”
Recently, Malakai Black also explained why he pushed for AEW to start doing house shows, which they are doing starting in March.
