Major WWE Superstar Facing Uncertain Future
A top WWE star could soon be a free agent.
In recent weeks it’s been reported that WWE is currently negotiating with at least 15 Superstars regarding new contracts. The news came after it was revealed that Kevin Owens is currently in talks over a new deal having recently stated negotiations were yet to start.
Owens is set to become a free agent in 2025, and AEW continues to have a “major interest” in securing his signature.
Throughout 2024 the company has agreed new contracts with the likes of Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Asuka, Finn Balor, and more. However, it seems the future of one top star remains uncertain.
Former WWE Champion Could Leave Company
According to a new report from Fightful Select, AJ Styles’ WWE deal expires in either late 2024 or early 2025. Styles has been off television since losing out to Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle, although he made a one-off appearance for Pro Wrestling NOAH before appearing on WWE tours in Japan and Europe.
There is no word on whether attempts have been made to re-sign Styles, but “numerous influential names” believe his contract expires before the end of the year.
Speaking in an interview on the eve of WrestleMania 40, AJ Styles admitted he’s nearing the end of his career and he’s wary of embarrassing himself in the ring.
