Major WWE Storyline Allegedly Over After 8 Months
After nearly eight months of heated drama, betrayals, and physical confrontations, the long-standing feud between Naomi and Jade Cargill appears to be over, at least for now.
The rivalry between the two women began in late 2024 when Cargill was mysteriously attacked backstage and subsequently written off television. Months later, at Elimination Chamber 2025, she made her shocking return and attacked Naomi, revealing that it was Naomi who ambushed her in the first place.
This revelation sparked a bitter and personal feud. Naomi admitted to the attack, claiming it was about being overlooked and disrespected. The tension boiled over at WrestleMania 41, where Cargill defeated Naomi in a high-profile match. But that wasn’t the end. Naomi retaliated backstage in the weeks that followed, and the rivalry escalated once again.
The two would meet again at WWE Evolution in a brutal No Holds Barred match, where Cargill once again emerged victorious. Many assumed this would be the end of the chapter, but what happened later that night seemed to confirm it.
Sam Roberts Believes Naomi and Jade Cargill’s WWE Storyline Has Ended
In the main event of Evolution, Naomi shocked the world by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract and pinning IYO SKY to become the new WWE Women’s World Champion.
On RAW the following night, General Manager Adam Pearce announced Naomi would defend her title against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam marking a new direction for her storyline. According to Sam Roberts on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, that shift confirmed what many were already thinking.
“The idea that there is still a rivalry between Jade Cargill and Naomi is kind of out the window,” Roberts said. “Especially since Jade Cargill now moves on to the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam and Tiffany Stratton. The fact that you bounce right off that with a cash-in [kind of says it all.]” (4:16 -4:36)

With both women now heading into separate title feuds, Naomi defending her gold and Cargill pursuing Stratton’s WWE Women’s Championship, their personal grudge appears to have run its course. Whether it resurfaces in the future remains to be seen.
