It seems like one major star who is reaching the end of their current contract with WWE is on the verge of signing a brand new deal.

2024 has proven to be a big year for WWE as far as contracts go with the company signing new deals with a variety of big stars such as Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Rhea Ripley. However, WWE haven’t had things all their own way as Ricochet left the company to join AEW while Becky Lynch allowed her contract to expire as questions about her future continue to be asked.

Now amid speculation that Kevin Owens’ current WWE deal is coming close to an end, it seems the former WWE Universal Champion is going nowhere.

According to WrestleVotes on a Backstage Pass Q&A, Owens might not have put pen to paper on a new deal as of yet but he is expected to in the very near future:

I did reach out, talked to a couple of people. Didn’t get a definite one way or the other, didn’t get an absolutely the deal’s been signed, but did get a really positive response that it’s very close if not completed with a handshake. So I’d imagine that he’s around for the long term.

Kevin Owens Signed Last WWE Deal In 2021

Owens signed a new deal with WWE in 2021 amid speculation that he’d join his old friends and former partners The Young Bucks in AEW. Since signing that new deal Owens has main evented WrestleMania twice – losing to Stone Cold Steve Austin in 2022 and joining Sami Zayn to win the WWE Tag Team Championship in 2023.

Kevin Owens has issued an ultimatum to WWE regarding his current predicament on SmackDown after he launched parking lot attacks against both Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
