Major WWE Star Removed From Upcoming Events

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre blur WWE logo

The ‘Road to WrestleMania’ for a top WWE star has undergone some changes.

With Elimination Chamber done and dusted, attention is now fully focused on WrestleMania. However, before the spectacular in Las Vegas, there’s the small matter of a huge European tour featuring several tapings for Raw and SmackDown.

That tour will begin on March 14 with a special edition of Friday Night SmackDown from the Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Spain.

CM Punk had originally been advertised for Raw in Brussels on March 17, SmackDown in Bologna on March 21, Raw in Glasgow on March 24, SmackDown in London on March 28, and Raw in London on March 31. But it seems he’s been quietly pulled from the tapings on March 24 and 31 and is no longer advertised for those shows.

CM Punk Changes Stance On WWE Legends

During his rivalry with The Rock in 2013, CM Punk made it clear he didn’t like how the Hollywood star could walk into top positions within WWE whenever he felt like it. John Cena also made those same criticisms when he had his own battles with The Great One.

However, in 2025, the landscape looks very different. While Rock is still very much a part-time and irregular presence, Cena has also followed the same path, thanks to an ever-expanding acting career.

In an interview ahead of Elimination Chamber, CM Punk admitted he’s changed his viewpoint in recent years, explaining that Cena has earned the right to work the schedule he wants. Punk added that The Rock’s Final Boss persona played into fan criticism that he only shows up every six months, giving the character even more realism.
