Major WWE Star “Banged Up” After Bad Blood

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre blur WWE logo

WWE Bad Blood certainly lived up to its name.

After months of tension, hatred, insults, bracelet-related shenanigans, and two matches, it came down to Hell In A Cell.

At Bad Blood, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre looked to finally bring their rivalry to a violent conclusion, and when all was said and done, they’d done just that. The match itself was something of a throwback to cell matches of days gone by as both men bled heavily and used a variety of weapons.

By the end of the match Punk and McIntyre were both sporting the scars of war, but ultimately it was the former AEW star who grabbed the win. To finally get the job done, Punk wrapped a steel chain around his knee before hitting another Go 2 Sleep on McIntyre.

To hammer home just how physical the match had been, Punk collapsed as he headed backstage while McIntyre struggled to stand in the ring.

Bad Blood Flowed Again In WWE

During the breath-taking clash, McIntyre was blasted in the face with a steel toolbox, leaving him a bloody mess, and according to a new report, there was no pro wrestling trickery involved.

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, McIntyre was “banged up” after the match. Johnson noted that the Scottish star was “legitimately busted open” by the clash, and he required 16 staples backstage to close the wound.

In his own update, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp said that McIntyre was fine other than getting staples.
