Major WWE Shake Up Expected In September
The 2025 WWE Draft is on the way.
Back in January, the brand split was all but called off for several top stars as they appeared on both Raw and SmackDown heading into WrestleMania. Meanwhile, main roster stars continue to appear in NXT as and when they’re needed.
This led to the assumption that with WrestleMania done and dusted, the 2025 Draft would quickly follow. However, that’s proven not to be the case.
A recent report suggested that WWE is still planning to hold a Draft, but the date remained a mystery.
WWE’s Plans For The 2025 Draft Revealed
Fast forward a couple of weeks, and it’s now been reported by Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net that the Draft will be held after SummerSlam, likely in September. This would allow for the company’s major storylines to be completed before a reset ahead of the next cycle into the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 42.
“The last I heard about the WWE draft was that they have been considering doing it post-SummerSlam, most likely as a tie-in to the season premiere episodes in September,”
Although the Draft has typically been held in April and usually no later than June, it was held in October in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Following WrestleMania, Nathan Frazer & Axiom were moved from NXT to SmackDown, while Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Roxanne Perez have also been called up. It’s been reported that Jordynne Grace and Ricky Saints will both be moved to the main roster in the coming weeks.
